Rebecca Irons is a Medical Anthropologist at University College London, specialising in reproductive and sexual health, race and ethnicity, gender, and the health in the Anthropocene for the Latin American context. Her PhD investigated State family planning services amongst the Quechua of Andean Peru, focusing on how the coloniality of gender and kinship influences indigenous subjectivities. Her current work is with Venezuelan migrants living with HIV, and seeks to understand how citizenship and biosocialities are expressed across different societal contexts.
